Urban Canvas

James Baker has teamed up with fellow Nottingham Artist Anthony Donally to help form Urban Canvas. With the help of two Loughborough University Fine Art students, John Pimperton and Ton Powell they have set to work on a number of large scale murals around Nottingham. The latest and most prominent piece of work being the face of Bridlesmith Gate in the city centre.

The aim of the group is to transform large exposed urban spaces for schools, companies and local authorities into bright adverts or colourful public art. James' style of tackling different scenes around the city and injecting them with colour, vigour and life translate well into large-scale pieces. James is currently working on three designs for the new Lace Market Square development. These will hopefully fill three large arches situated on Warser Gate, so watch this space!
